At Smart Havens Africa we empower low-income families to buy the housing they need. A first principled way we do this is by making land ownership more accessible for low income families. Land ownership provides families with the credit profile and collateralization they need to participate in the housing market and buy the housing they want. Land ownership gives families: 1. A generational asset that can serve as a guarantee to obtain a mortgage or a loan to build their home 2. Land tenure that guarantees long-term security from eviction 3. An increase in net worth and an asset that can unlock housing finance Owning a parcel of land is one way to Guard against old age poverty.
1. Families sign up to join the waitlist in a program to access land and services with Smart Havens Africa. 2. Families make small monthly payments towards their land which has services (Access Roads, water and electricity). 3. When families complete the payments, they receive a property title that serves as collateral to access a housing loan. 4. Families who access a loan can choose from multiple home designs or start building on their property. 5. When construction is complete, families move in and start making rent to own payments towards their homes.
When low income families become property owners, they gain entry to the housing market, where they have the ability to buy the housing they want — at a price they can afford.

The Serviced Plot is the parcel of land available for you to buy and custom build your home. In all cases, access to the plot has been laid and available utilities laid to the boundary of the plot. It will be shovel ready with planning permission included
