What is Rent to Own?
Rent to Own is our alternative route to home ownership. Many people aspire to home ownership but believe they can’t due to obstacles like finance, little income , employment or credit issues.
Our aim is to get those who want to own their own home, but aren’t quite in the position to outright buy yet, on the first step of the property ladder. You choose to rent a new build house anywhere in SHA Communities. The rent paid monthly reduces the total outstanding balance  to zero and you become your own landlord. 
Who is it for?
Rent to Own may be the right option for you if you are currently employed and have a plan to own your home. If you can pay your rent, but can’t currently get a mortgage due to litle finances, employment , then Rent to Own could be the answer.
The big difference between traditional renting and Rent to Own is that you choose a new build home in any SHA community. You then commit to a 3-8 year plan with the aim to buy your home through your monthly payments.
How do i apply?
Now you’ve worked out that Rent to Own could help you move from renting to home ownership, please check the information below before applying:
I am over 18
I do not currently own any property or land in Uganda or elsewhere
I will live in the property as my only residence and will not use the property for business purposes
I acknowledge that where I am married, a civil partner or part of a couple living together or intending to live together in a property then the application must be in the joint names of myself and my spouse, civil partner or partner.
I am a ugandan  resident
I have no outstanding adverse credit at the time of making a Rent to Own application 
I am not under notice of termination of employment or redundancy.
What Documents will i need to submit my application?
In order for your application to be completed and progressed as quickly as possible, please have the following information to hand before you start your application (required for both applicants):

The last 6 months payslips for all employment (where employed)
The last 6 months bank statements
In addition to the above during the course of the application we may ask you to provide:
Photographic ID – See list of acceptable documentation below
Proof of current address 
Residency documentation
Proof of savings e.g. savings statements
Proof of any other income
